Robin Matthews (Melanie Merkowsky) was the community manager of the Harper's Globe newspaper and protagonist of the web series of the same name.

History

Early Life

Robin grew up in the village of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, a small community that she found nice, but boring. Robin developed a distaste for hard drinking, observing adults and peers drinking simply to have something to do.

She attended Tremper High School, where she was a member of the Dance Team, as well as the Yearbook Committee. During high school, she worked an odd job at the local Jelly Belly factory. While on the Yearbook Committee, Robin built a social networking site so the members of the committee could connect and coordinate.

College

Summer Blogging

Robin's efforts on the Yearbook Committee, earned her a scholarship to Washington Pacific University, where she majored in Online Communications.

A stipulation of her scholarship was working at an RA, a duty Robin performed at different dorms throughout her time in college, working at the Pioneer Dorm in her junior year, and overseeing the Port Dorm in her senior year, starting with the summer 2008 session.

It was during this time that Robin started a blog for college credits, documenting her experiences in a "Dorm Diary".

Over the course of the summer months, the Port Dorm was terrorized by a clothing thief the dormers dubbed "the Shirt Stealer". Robin eventually became one of the Shirt Stealer's targets, discovering her Tremper High sweatshirt missing. After one close call, Robin finally caught the thief, discovering he was the unassuming dormer she'd dubbed "Quiet Guy". It turned out, however, that the thefts were not meant with malicious intent, and were in fact intended for an avant garde Humanities project, so Robin let him slide.

The start of the fall semester saw the return of Robin's best friend Ashley, who had been on vacation in Dubai. While at a party early in the semester, Robin met and was charmed by a new freshman, Peck, who endeared himself to her enough that, when Robin overheard two fraternity brothers plotting a particularly gruesome hazing ritual for their freshman pledges, warned Peck away from the ceremony.
